Five stone-faced, old dudes
As planned, the three of us headed out to Mount Rushmore yesterday.

The ride on Highways 244 and 87 were fantastic! NO RAIN ALL DAY.

Then, three younger guys posed in front of four older guys. Bill and I have been to Rushmore before, but it was the first time Kenny saw the four stoners. Construction kept us from getting closer. Waiting for a tweet from Trump to propose having his mug added to the monument. Bill had a hard time listening and following instructions (park personnel tried to help him with parking; he had "husband hearing syndrome"). Bill and I did get the senior discount for parking ($5, not $10).

Then, a wild-ass ride through Custer State Park. Kenny chased after some buffalo (bison?). TATANKA. Unfortunately, they kept their distance from the road.
Sweet riding through Needles Highway and Iron Mountain Road; pretty technical roads, though, with lots of tight turns and one lane tunnels. And stupid people (besides us). But well worth the $10 admission fee. Not for the faint of heart. And damn! We live in a beautiful country!

South Dakota does have a lot of flies. A lot! Outside, in the hotel, in the restaurants, you name it. Flies. And other bugs. Kenny kissed one with his face while we were out today. Hey Kenny, where's your hat? (Sorry, that wasn't nice. He recently lost it somewhere on I-90 or something...)
Wisconsin; the home and birthplace of Harley Davidson. And the state with a bigger lake (Michigan) than Tahoe. Despite being the home of the hated Packers, it really should have been an obvious choice to vote for SW11 in Mecca.

Then on to Crazy Horse to see the fifth stone head. We look like we are far away in the below picture because, well, we were. We didn't have the $$$ inclination or enough planned time in our day to actually go into that park, so we looked at the chief and documented our visit from the entrance driveway, roughly a half mile away....that, after being "motivated" by a booth ranger. She probably yelled, um spoke loudly, because Bill is a poor listener...

We ate at Red's Chicken House and BBQ in Keystone before heading back to Deadwood. Great brisket and buffalo burgers. With REALLY GOOD CHEESE for the burgers. Brigette was our server and she was terrific! Raffle night and voting for Shark Week 11 back at the hotel! It's a good thing we ate, because the "hor d'oeuvres" were basically chips, some kinda sauce, and, wait for it, TRAIL MIX. Trail mix hor d'oeuvres. Just when we thought we'd seen it all...
Bill won a cooler. The choice for SW11 was between Lake Tahoe (Cali/Nevada border) and Appleton, Wisconsin.
We'll find out tonight! Don't go away...

Some great pics here in this post. ❤️
